The Signal handheld retinal camera allows for non-mydriatic retinal examinations with a 500 x 400 field of view, capturing both the macula and optic disc without requiring pupil dilation. It produces high-quality, true-color images and videos, making it suitable for retinal screening and documentation. With nine fixation targets, it supports imaging of both the central and peripheral retina for a more comprehensive assessment.
With an autofocus function, the Signal ensures quick and accurate image acquisition. When used with a slit lamp adapter, positioning and alignment become even more efficient. The device features an intuitive interface with user-friendly icons for easy navigation.
Examining infants, young children, and elderly patients with traditional stationary retinal cameras can be challenging. The Signal’s maneuverability allows for easier imaging of uncooperative patients, making it especially useful in pediatric and geriatric care. Its low-intensity IR focusing beam minimizes discomfort, making it less likely to startle young patients. Additionally, elderly individuals can be examined while reclined or lying down, improving accessibility in various clinical settings.
